Oh yeah

I forgot to mention that I spoke to my friend who graduated a couple years ago and has an industrial lab job.

His take, it won't be impossible for me to find a job, but it won't be easy. A lot of places could probably only offer short-term industrial postdocs. Hm. I think that would be ok. Sigh.

Are you looking for an industrial post doc as opposed to an academic one? I really don't know how things work in computer science.

Typically postdocs aren't really necessary in computer science (in my field for sure, I'm not positive about the broader field, but it certainly isn't universal like in the biological sciences). I hardly know anyone who does them.

I'm looking for an industrial lab JOB, but it seems that might be impossible right now. So I might have to settle for a temporary postdoc, which isn't so bad because I'm going to go on the market again in a year +/- year anyway, when Mr. PhizzleDizzle finishes his degree.
