A Difficult Holiday Season

I have a crapton of work to do to prepare for a talk coming up soon. It sucks that it has to happen over the holidays.

And then...we find out that FIL's cancer has spread and there's nothing to do.

Talk about an eye-opener. I'm so sad. This will be a difficult holiday season.

I am so so sorry to hear about your FIL. Why is it that bad news always comes at the holidays? Both my grandparents cancer diagnoses came in December, my husband's best friend's mother just found out she has a metastasis from lung cancer in her brain, and my MIL just had to have a biopsy yesterday for what may be late-stage ovarian cancer. Not that there is ever good time for this kind of news, but it always seems like it has to ruin just one last happy holiday family time together.

I'm so sorry to hear your news, and am keeping you (all) in my thoughts.

News such as this is always an eye-opener. We complain and get fed up, but forget how lucky we are to have our health until something like this happens.

Take care and I'll be thinking of you xx
