seriously. I just spent nearly 2 hours making an awesome awesome dinner. it looks SO AMAZING.
but....then i dropped a plate and glass went EVERYWHERE and now it's too dangerous to eat any of the food. literally, there was glass all round the place. so now i can only smell it and look at it. i am SO PATHETIC.
ok, i am too lazy to take real pictures but here are some pics from my mac camera:
roasted green beans with sun-dried tomatoes, olives, goat cheese:
pesto baked chicken topped with mozzarella (worse picture and looks much less appetizing but whatever, IRL it looks and smells AWESOME!)
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!
This is the third piece of glassware I have broken in probably the last month or so. When did I become such a klutz? I never even broke any plates or glasses as a little kid.

Ugh, that stinks. A couple months ago I made my most favorite roasted mushroom quiche and after prepping the whole thing and chopping all the mushrooms and roasting them first and whipping the eggs and putting it all together.... I dropped it as I was sliding the sheet in the oven, and it flipped and went EVERYWHERE inside the oven and made SUCH a huge mess. There is nothing worse than having to clean up a giant kitchen mess while you are still hungry.
you're not pathetic, just really tired.
I once spent all afternoon making curried lamb, only to end up having it burn because the monkey woke up from his nap very scared and I totally forgot about it when I was comforting him.
i decided it would be kind of ok to eat the chicken if i peeled off the layer of cheese because i thought it would be pretty unlikely any shards of glass were in there, and if there were they were probably sitting on the cheese.
the green beans we didn't touch because i actually found a shard of glass in it.
i'll let you guys know if i rip holes in my intestines. eek!
Bummer. I agree that you are not pathetic, just tired. My solution when this happens is to say "Fuck it!!" and then order delivery from my favorite Thai restaurant. I love it but think of it as a treat...which sort of makes up for the disappointment of not getting to eat the delicious meal that I worked so hard at.
Darn! And going out sounds like a great thing, AA.

Eppendork concurs - I do just dumbarse shite when I'm really tired and then spend five minutes banging cupboards and pots and sits down with a really big glass of Sauv. Eppendork really likes big glasses of her favourite white at these times.
Hugs,
E.
