I miss Mr. Phizz

Today, I feel lonely. I miss my husband.

I'll see him in a few weeks. But still. I am hoping that work next week will be super exciting. But as it stands, now that I'm settling in, regular life is beginning, and I am realizing how much I will miss Mr. Phizz until he can come join me. It seems like life will now be an endless series of days at work, and coming home to....working on my thesis and no one. How depressing.

So, I just hope that work is exceedingly exciting. Which I think it might be, but I'll still miss Mr. Phizz.

Hang in there, Phizz! I am sure that you will begin to make some friends at work, with whom you will socialize. This will make you feel less lonely.

Aw - I hear you. Separation is tough, especially when it seems like there is no end in sight (even when there is one!). Maybe you guys can make a "date night", and do a video conference, or watch the same movie together or something.

Hang in there - PP is right, once you start making friends it'll get better!

I completely understand and sympathize. My best advice to you is distraction and I echo CPP's bit about making new friends.

Hugs... missing your hubby sucks. Mrs CH's "date night" idea sounds awesome, seems like it would really help...

I'm glad to hear your job is going well! I can't imagine being lonely AND not enjoying my new job away from my man. I admire you for being able to live away like you are.

Like everyone else said -- it'll be easier once you have social friends at work. If I were you, I'd even initiate that process on my own right now. "Hey guys, I'm new to the area. Anyone want to join me for dinner tomorrow? Suggest a cool restaurant that I should try?" Most people LOVE introducing new people to their city.

Awww, Poor Phizz. I am familiar with the feeling. There's days that are no different from the one before it, but you seem to miss him more that day. Would just like his presence.

The only thing to do is keep yourself busy-minimise any chances to wallow!

Nicky's suggestion for initiating your own social life is very good, and a nice way to do it.

Hope you are feeling a little less lonely today!

Awww PD, sorry to hear that you are lonely. I hope your new job keeps you busy and distracted for a while. I can't wait to read how it goes.

Thanks so much guys! I am lucky in that I have a number of friends in NewJobCity, so I see them every now and then...but still, it's different from coming home every day to your sweet husband. I haven't been really super lonely since the day of this post, so I guess that's good.

And the date night is a good idea. We have webcams so we need to remember to make use of them :).
