We ate Szechuan takeout, it was awesome.

We usually avoid Valentines Day (I initially wrote VD - we avoid that too), and celebrate our wedding anniversary and first date anniversary instead. Another couple we know chose an arbitrary date and marked that as their Valentines. No need to spend a fortune on flowers and dinner when you can get the same stuff for a fraction of the price on any other day of the year!Cath@VWXYNot?https://www.blogger.com/profile/01164268321173313605noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1232997740963687513.post-20236375524139620632009-02-16T13:54:00.000-05:002009-02-16T13:54:00.000-05:00Hahaha, no, no Whitman Sampler, I was kidding abou...Hahaha, no, no Whitman Sampler, I was kidding about that - and the brownies were more than enough :). Had Husband been around, I would have loved to do something just like that -- any day that I don't have to cook is a total treat, and frankly, we both work so much and we're so tired that going out somewhere fancy at this point is often more effort than it's worth. We would have been totally happy throwing on jeans and walking up the street for pizza and just hanging out together, because time together is all that matters.

So, did you get your big, heart-shaped Whitman's sampler of chocolate on Sunday?? Or did the brownies last night make up for that instead?Julie @ Bunsen Burner Bakeryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16279523327409654066noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1232997740963687513.post-21755216788345648152009-02-16T13:01:00.000-05:002009-02-16T13:01:00.000-05:00Oh, I've seen that movie!! Love it.

We stayed in and watched quite possibly the least romantic movie ever made. "Seeing Other People." It wasn't even that good. But we also shared our first bottle of wine in months, so all was not lost.Nickyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15614845410446113639noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1232997740963687513.post-44179929988933475862009-02-16T11:45:00.000-05:002009-02-16T11:45:00.000-05:00Loved Julie's gift to her hubby - and thanks for t...Loved Julie's gift to her hubby - and thanks for the link to her blog! It is silly. I think what Julie did for her hubby was adorable, wonderful, and inexpensive. That's the kind of stuff that matters.

Sounds like you guys had a nice day too - sometimes, staying in and watching a bad movie with the person you love can be so fun :).PhizzleDizzlehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02036442165798690074noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1232997740963687513.post-62877014672601953442009-02-16T10:29:00.000-05:002009-02-16T10:29:00.000-05:00Seriously, doesn't it matter more what a man does ...Seriously, doesn't it matter more what a man does for you on the other 364 days of the year than on one arbitrary day?

I totally agree - and to add to that: why does Valentine's Day have to be about the man doing something? How about the woman doing something romantic too?

Anyway, sounds like you two had a great VDay - love the fact that Friday's was filled with lovey dovey teenage couples! LOL

We just stayed in, cooked Indian food and watched Wanted (which was terrible! hehe!).Alyssahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01695509619557410413noreply@blogger.com
